Teardown: 2600mAh Solar Panel Power USB Battery Charger for Cell Phone iPhone Black

Bought this on eBay so I can use the battery pack to charge my cell phone (and digital camera,PDA,MP3,MP4 etc) while traveling. It cost me around $18 shipped. The battery pack has a solar cell built-in to charge it off from sunlight (particularly useful at off-gird locations). White LED lights are present to use the USB charging pack as a flash light.Came with the following stuff in box:

1 x Mini USB cable
1 x OTG cable (used for charging through data cable of your own cell phone)
1 x Mains USB charger
6 x Adapters (iPhone, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Mini USB, Nokia, PSP)
1 x AC mains charger
1 x Manual (very hard to understand)

However, as compared to my previously bought solar chargers which had no charge control and died quickly, this one appeared to have some kind of a charge controller. The charger has a solid metallic feel and seems to be made of steel.

I decided to open the charger and take a at look what is inside.

The Gateway E-4000 Series Desktop computer (4-bay)-

E-4300 Desktop 4-bayThe Gateway E-Series computers have been around for a while now. The systems are available in both desktop and tower configuration.

The particular Gateway system we are about to review is a E-4300 series small form factor 4-bay computer. The term "4-bay" refers to the fact that a total number of four expansion sites are available for installing storage devices like floppy drive, CD-ROM Drive, hard disk drive etc. The sizes of these bays are one external 5.25-inch, one external 3.5-inch, one external 3.5-inch slimline and one internal 3.5-inch bay.

One of the E-4300 Desktop standing 4-bayunique advantage of this casing is that it can be use as a desktop or mini-tower configuration. It has a rotatable feet which comes out when you turn it 90 degrees. Hence the casing can stand stably.

The motherboard model is D865GLV Intel manufactured. It carries a Pentium 4 Socket 478. Which makes it possible to install any processor in the 1.7-3.00 GHz Range (Faster and newer Pentium 4 processors use LGA 775 package). This particular system uses 2.8GHz processor with 800MHz Front Size Bus (FSB). 4-slots are available for 400 MHz DDR RAM thus there is plenty of room for memory expansion. A PCI slot and 8x AGP port is also available for gaming enthusiasts. This desktop PC is still available for sale on ebay and other sitesGateway E-series Casing open.
